STDcheck.com, the leader in online STD testing, searched over 1200 sites for the best blogs and websites in the sex, dating, love, and relationship categories.

81. Clarissa Silva is not your average single chick with a blog. While she does write about her experiences (which she often describes as “suboptimal,” betraying her background as a scientist and researcher), she does so for the benefit of the reader. After spending time developing techniques for her clients to use to “create relationship wellness,” she decided to share her perspective and wisdom. Her blog is a unique blend of stories about douchebags she met through online dating sites and suggestions for how to date by creating a “happiness hypothesis” and testing it out. Silva’s blend of logic, science, and humor make You’re Just A Dumbass a humorous and educational read.

Thanks for the award stdcheck.com and all the work that you do in helping people maintain healthy sexual relationships! It is a true honor to be among these amazing bloggers! In addition to the tremendous honor of the ranking, we also get $500 in gift cards that I’ll be donating to a nonprofit or giving away at a future event I hold.

            1. That’s fantastic. Me too! I just have a few more chapters I’m going to pilot, then begin the book proposal.

Excited for you and the book! It’s fantastic content! Let me know when it’s released!

      1. Thanks you! I will check out #caturday. I’ve had as much as 6 cats at a time, plus the neighbor cats coming around for food or to play with the toys. Cats are people too!

          1. Well I am wallowing in cuteness now. Gee thanks, I needed the boost today, lol. My. All my cats have been throw-aways, Clarissa. Someone tossed them and they came to me. Robin showed up preggers, Fluffy, who had been de-clawed, showed up about to die, and on and on. Just happy I can help, you know? I think it makes the world better. Anyway, I’m also a lifetime member of the Friends of Cats Society in California. Thank you so much for the cats and the other interesting stuff on your site!

            1. Awww that’s awesome of you! You have a wonderful heart and am glad that you give them homes and love when others didn’t!

I know what you mean. I feel the same, but about people. I want people to be happy so that the world can be a better place.

So glad you enjoyed the cat posts and my articles.

  1. You know, I just love the name of your blog. I almost titled mine: Shut the Hell UP! You sound a lot like a younger female me – don’t you just want to sucker-slap some people when they are rambling?

      1. Now THAT is a compliment. Thank you Clarissa, you’re way cool. I love your writing too, and how you don’t beat around the bush. I’ve found in life appeasement and PC do not work one way or the other. Just keep being true to yourself and make your own decisions and admit your mistakes. Oh, unsolicited advice, I’m sorry.

        1. Are you kidding me! I love it! Thank you so much for your kind words, support and the truth!! Ok, i have to admit I have a digit crush on you! You are awesome!!

lol truth be told the blog has a science behind it! I picked a profession that was always going to let me tell people what they needed to stop doing!

So glad that you enjoyed it! It means so much to me!

When are you going to publish?

          1. Ah Clarissa I have a digit crush on you too, but heck I’m likely old enough to be your dad or grand dad. Doesn’t matter, it’s what is upstairs and not following the crowd that counts. I’m not sure about publishing, because this is my first blog and I’m still learning. Oh, to finish my unsolicited advice, to admit your mistakes is divine, because then no one can really do anything to you. Just be like “Yes I messed up, so now what do we do?” It takes people off guard, too. I’ve been doing that to doctors for years, I’m a nurse.

            1. 🙂 so true! life is lived so much better without self-deception or delusionment!

I’ll be doing a twitter chat with PR Newswire on Tues, 3.4 3:00-4:30 PM EST #connectchat on ways to enhance engagement & other blogging techniques I developed. I’ll put a post up this weekend with the details!

  2. And besides wanting to slap everyone who makes me nuts, I wish I could take everyone home and put them on my couch, give them cookies and Coke, and put on a nice movie.
