  1. Thank you, Clarissa. Getting a following is not easy, especially when I do not have Twitter or any other technology, other then WP and facebook. So the following I do have, is well-earned. My work as well, speaks for itself.

Have a great day! Love, Amy

    1. Oh, I feel the same way, Amy! But, I did break down and start a twitter account that I really don’t know how to use lol 🙂 It’s a different world than the academic healthcare world I was used to. It amazes me that the craziest yt videos will have 3M views in 5 mins!

You have an exceptional talent and it will get noticed. I would encourage you to go to g+. The ability to highlight photography is amazing. Circle me and I’ll send you invites to a few communities.

Hope you have a great day, too!!!

      1. Clarissa, I do thank you for the encouragement. I shut Google+ off because one day I saw that all my photos I have on my iPad, were on Google+. I am not technology geared so I had no idea how to control that. I honestly was shocked that people could view any of my photos without me controlling which ones. I don’t want all of them seen. And about facebook … I don’t use it. What I do have turned on is only facebook. I don’t like to admit this, but I don’t have a cellphone with all the technology. Hubs and I have one cellphone (flip-up) for emergencies only. I have never texted, nor do I know how to Tweet. What does that say about me?

IF you know of a way I can control which photos that othes see, I will reopen Google+. I like your WP address, by the way. I feel that way much of the time, as I do my own PR work, going from one blog to another … very time consuming. And all this technology? I don’t have the TIME to learn it all.

Now you know how “simple” I am. LOL I prefer it that way, truth be known!!
        (((HUGS))) Amy

        1. You are awesome, Amy!!! Listen I have a phone w/all those bells and whistles and I hardly ever text.

G+ you have to go into the settings and adjust who sees it. You must also adjust the settings in your ipad. I found this helpful: http://lifehacker.com/5827683/a-guide-to-google%252B-privacy-and-information-control

This may be a burden, but do you watermark your images?

Google has changed their algorithm and has enhanced many features that would showcase you better. They made specific changes to images. That you would understand not me 🙂 You can alter things. That to the simple person like me, was impressed!

I completely understand. I think most of us on here do our own PR 🙂 It’s part of the reason I like wp so much as a platform. It has a true community feel. I get to meet you and support you or be bossy and tell you what to do 🙂

I call us old fashioned LOL I prefer to talk on my phone, shake hands w/a human being, and have a physical meeting with another human being. 🙂

I hope you re-join g+, photography communities have >100K in them!!! Where can you find that kind of audience these days 🙂

          xoxoxo

          1. OK. Clarissa, when I get some spare time I will look back into Google+. I will also check out my email regarding what you sent.

As for the “old fashion”, yet, I am. And proud of it. I can still say I own my own mind, and I will not tolerate technology to take over my life or my mind.

Looks like I have some work cut out for me. (sigh) There is a whole lot more to my blog then just what you see. I study photography (always improving my technique) as well as take the photos, edit them, match the photo to words … or one post I have in mind, is something I discovered on my Rose of Sharon bush, something the human eye does not see. Yes, I am discovering a world with my macro that I didn’t know existed. That is still to come, so don’t miss that one. I’m going to try to find time to google what I found so I can explain what you are seeing. IF not, then the photos will just be enough to ohh and ahhh over. (GRIN!)

And then, hmmm…..let’s see, I really do have a LIFE. If I just had time to promote myself, work on my blog, immerse myself in the world of photography, go to other blogs …gee, what a less stessful life I would have. I really thank you for the ^^^ link. I’ll take your word for it that if you can do it, so can I. THANK YOU and huge (((HUGS))) Amy (smile)

Oh, YES, I do watermark my images. In the lower left hand corner, not huge, but it is there. IF someone really wanted, they could crop my photos and call them their own. I can only do so much. Plus IF someone wanted to print my photos they would be sadly disappointed because I have them in such a format that when blown up to a larger image (to print) they will be very grainy and terrible. So, yes, I am learning some tricks. Let’s face it, Clarissa, we live in a TAKE society and one that holds very little respect for another one. If like I said, someone is going to steal, there isn’t much I can do to stop that person. Yes, (I say softly) what goes around DOES come around … if you know what I mean. xxoo Amy

            1. Wow! That’s really impressive that you are studying to improve what I and all of your fans already consider to be amazing work. Your work is very fascinating and captivating. I just went to look at the http://herladypinkrose.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/macro-beginnings/ macro beginnings and I see what you mean. The perspective is so sharp and focused. Wonder why it’s called macro instead of micro?

Yeah, I realized after I sent the reply and was looking at your newest post that it did have a watermark. duhh. LOL I can’t stop laughing at the tricks that you’ve created to protect your work. But, you know it is the sad reality we live in now. I agree people will take without crediting and not thinking anything of it!

Glad you are considering g+. You should see what techniques they have built into images. You are so right for those of us that don’t understand it, all we do is go ohhh ahhh look at that pretty picture 🙂

The other cute thing about google + is that they hashtag techniques and equipment they use that trends. I mean the whole platform is based on images and lots of smart people.

Can’t wait to continue seeing more work coming from you! Looking forward to seeing you on g+ too 🙂 #imnotbossy 🙂

              1. Clarissa, this has been a truly wonderful conversation. I just came from google+. I really have to focus to do this. I don’t want people being able to see all my work, some of it private so I will really read that on the link you provided. And then I have to reorganize my circles … No wonder I don’t remember hitting the pillow at night. I as well take care of special needs cats, take care of a home, and do what I do for ME … my blog, photography, work out at gym, … and more. Whew!!! If there is one thing I will do, I promise to get this google+ down. I have the site you gave me on my desktop for easy reference. THANK YOU again!!!! (((HUGS)))

PS Hashtag??? OK. Now I AM laughing!! And I jotted down your google name. LOL Work in progress ….

                1. Yes sorry to add another pile of crap to your already long list of things to do. But, it does so much for you SEO, increases your visibility within the search engine. It is worth it. I promise.

You are adorable and awesome! I think everyone should drool over your talent 🙂

Have a great day! See you on g+ or wp 🙂 xoxoxo

                  1. OK. I just deleted all my albums on google+ then I see you will still be able to see all my photos in my photo base on my iPad. I cannot delete this, so I am just not comfortable for others to see all my photos. I have tried everything I know, even with the article. I’ll have to come back to this again, because I am really frustrated right now. I have thousands of photos on my computer, which I am just not willing to show the world. I am willing to show those I choose to share. But google+ is controlling me. No. If I can find a way around this, OK. But for now, no. Sorry, I tried. xxoo, Amy

                    1. oh I’m sorry that you are having a tough time. I didn’t mean to cause you stress. I wish I could just do it for you! I understand completely! If it’s all this hassle it’s not worth it!

Sorry, love! Have a great Sunday!!! xoxoxo

                    2. No, Clarissa, don’t go there. I am shocked that all my photos in my camera roll from my iPad, are on google+. And there is NO way to control that. If I am not able to carefully select what I want others to see, then I am just not willing to do it. Maybe because you don’t photograph and don’t have a lot of pictures in your camera roll (if you have an iPad) then it would be OK. I’ll just plug along going to blogs when I can to promote myself. And of course meet more friends. (smile)
                      xxoo, Amy

                    3. Yeah I don’t have an ipad so I am not sure why it is happening. Other than it being a setting on the ipad itself. Are they being shared to a google drive? I totally wouldn’t want you to compromise your work.

I agree that going to different blogs is the much more organic way to gain followers and make new friends! 🙂 Well, I’ll be sharing your art in my posts and google+ linking back to your blog!

                      Have a great Sunday! xoxoxo

                    4. Clarissa, I am so grateful for your help. I will check on my iPad about the pics. And yes, it has everything to do with my iPad, because when I have google+ up and running from my laptop, the camera roll is not showing. I will try to get to the bottom of this. LOL That just broght a memory back to me. When I was working as an RN before the rage of computers, we were told that computer were going to be installed to decrease our paperwork load. OMG! I can just imagine what it is like now! Before notes were longhand … now? I have no idea but anytime I go see my GP, I am talking to the back of his head, because he is so busy with the computer. (sigh) Technology has made our lives more complex if anything. Easier yes, in some ways. Others? No. OK. I am off of here. You have a Great Sunday, or what is left of it!!! (((HUGS))) Amy

                    5. I know right? Erecords were just being installed a few years ago citywide here! I fill out my own history before I see my doc! Human interaction is the biggest commodity now. Lol

Luckily, there are still a few of us that favor one-on-one real time feedback relationship building 🙂

Glad we were able to identify the issue with the photo sharing.

Have a great one, Amy! Such a pleasure meeting you! Xoxo

                    6. xxoo, Clarissa!!! We may be fast heading towards being fossils, but while this fossil is still alive, I will choose the personal touch any day. A dying breed will be gone when we leave. Sad but true. This world is just one that does not fit well anymore with me. (((HUGS))) Amy
